Mike Parsons

In 2013 Mike retired as CEO of Barchester Healthcare, the company he founded in 1992 and built from a single care home to the highest quality and most profitable portfolio in Europe. In founding and developing Barchester he aimed to take long term care to a new standard. Since 2013 he has used his experience, expertise and resources to help back other, younger entrepreneurs and their companies to make a profoundly positive impact on the lives of older and less abled people and their communities.

Mark Hodgkinson

Chair of Remuneration Committee

In Mark’s earlier career, he worked for Sir Richard Branson for 7 years, running Virgin Money, which became the fastest growing privately owned company in the UK. Since then, he has led the growth & transformation of a broad range of consumer focused, multi-site and multichannel businesses. He also had a spell in government, where he was asked to lead the body responsible for tackling the housing crisis. He is now leading the national charity Scope, which is focused upon delivering equality for disabled people in their everyday lives.

David Duncan

Chair of Audit Committee

David is a Chartered Accountant with a Masters in Finance from London Business School. He Joined Barchester Healthcare as Finance Director in 1996 when it had 8 homes and a turnover of £7m and over 18 years helped to it grow to over 200 homes and turnover of £500m+. David is now Finance Director of Dormy Care which is building and operating new care homes.

Clodagh Warde

Clodagh joined Social Finance in February 2015. She is responsible for the Care & Wellbeing Fund, working with commissioners and social enterprises to develop innovative, outcomes based services. Before joining Social Finance Clodagh worked in health, both in advisory and leadership roles in the UK and abroad. Most recently she was a Senior Adviser in NHS England, prior to which she was Managing Director of an NHS CSU (Commissioning Support Unit).

Klaas de Boer

Non-Executive Director

Klaas de Boer brings over 20 years of venture capital experience to the board of Oomph!. He started his career with McKinsey & Co in Amsterdam, and transitioned into VC in 1997 with Baan Investment. He has been managing partner of Entrepreneurs Fund since 2006, and joined the investment committee of Nesta’s Social Impact Fund in 2016. Other current board positions include General Fusion Inc, SmartKem Ltd and vasopharm GmbH.

Ben Allen

Ben founded Oomph! Wellness 8 years ago after working with the European Institute of Fitness. Over the last 8 years Ben has lead Oomph! through multiple phases of growth and the recent launches of Oomph! Out and About and, in conjunction with Sport England, Oomph! Community. Ben is also the; Chairman of the Care Workers Charity, Chairman of Mirthy, Co-founder and NED of The Care Innovation Hub and NED of Purozo.

Kate Colborne-Baber

Kate joined Oomph! Wellness 6 years ago and is responsible for day-to-day operations and service delivery. Kate has a broad ranging experience of both the business and social sector and has played a critical role in the implementation of Oomph!’s growth strategy and service expansion. Prior to transferring to the social sector, Kate spent 8 years in a number of strategically important commercial roles in business development, client relations and financial operations. When not working, Kate loves hanging out with her 2 girls!
